Ace Handyman Service Columbus Group is the largest franchise office, and has maintained the highest sales in the franchise system for the last seven of it’s eleven years in business. Staffed with over twenty craftsmen they are seeking to add to their team with additional master craftsman.

These individuals are key leaders whose are responsible for completing complex and cross trade jobs; primarily larger remodels. They are also responsible for setting the highest standard of quality, professionalism, and customer care. This role requires not only exceptional technical expertise across all the major trades (i.e. plumbing, carpentry, electrical, drywall, and painting) but also the ability to mentor and guide fellow craftsmen, ensuring projects are completed with precision, consistency, on time, and profitable. A master craftsman must demonstrate outstanding problem-solving skills, adaptability, and strong communication with customers, always delivering service that reflects our values. More than just a skilled tradesperson, they embody the responsibility of leadership by fostering trust, maintaining efficiency, and representing the excellence of our brand in every interaction. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities  
 
  1. Lead Complex Projects:  Take charge of large remodels and advanced repair projects across multiple trades (carpentry, drywall, tile, electrical, plumbing, painting, flooring, and exterior repairs) including but not limited to bathroom remodels and deck refacing. 
  2. Diagnose & Plan: Assess challenging home projects and develop accurate solutions, work plans, and estimates. Use your expertise to set clear expectations and ensure success from start to finish. 
  3. Run the Jobsite: Self-manage your projects, keeping everything on schedule, safe, and running smoothly. Lead others on the jobsite with confidence, providing direction and guidance when needed. 
  4. Be the Brand Expert: Represent Ace Handyman Services with professionalism, integrity, and consistency. Show others what “done right” looks like by modeling best practices and high standards. 
  5. Delight Customers: Serve as the main point of contact for clients during projects. Communicate clearly and kindly, making sure every customer feels respected, informed, and thrilled with the final result. 
  6. Mentor & Support Others: Share your knowledge by coaching and training fellow craftsmen. Help build a positive, supportive, high-performing team culture. 
  7. Take Care of Tools & Resources: Use and maintain professional-grade tools with pride. Make smart use of materials and resources to keep projects efficient and cost-effective. 
  8. Stay Organized: Keep track of daily progress, materials, and time. Ensure everything is documented so projects are smooth and transparent.

Qualifications


Education and Experience:  
  • High School Diploma or GED required.  
  • At minimum of 10+ years of broad, hands-on experience in multiple trades required (i.e. plumbing, carpentry, electrical, drywall, and painting) 
  • Have their own tools from everyday essentials to power tools, and specialty tools 
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and train other craftsmen. 
  • Estimating experience is a bonus 
Mathematical Skills:  
  • Strong math skills required for advanced estimating, measurements, and complex project planning.  
Computer Skills:  
  • Proficient with tablet and/or phone use for estimating, time keeping, dispatching, and purchasing 
  • Strong knowledge of electronic communication and documentation practices.  
Other Qualifications:  
  • Valid driver’s license required.  
  • Must have own tools.  
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening. 
  • Must be comfortable working at heights up to 32 feet or higher (unless otherwise approved by management).  
Compensation: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour

For example, they are in charge of their own job sites, and given the freedom to interact directly with Homeowners and Property Managers to suggest work that will improve safety, preserve their largest investment, and truly help them to love their homes and commercial buildings.

Ace Handyman Services’ work itself is often indoors in temperature-controlled environments, and is primarily of lighter-duty than new construction projects.  There are Franchise Owners and Office Managers to assist with the day-to-day operations and administrative side of the business allowing our Craftsmen to focus on the tasks at-hand and provide our customers with professional services that delight our customers.  Our Franchise Owners are successful, business-savvy individuals, who are ethical and treat their Staff like Family. The safety and well-being of TEAM members is a top priority. Many of our Craftsmen are former business owners themselves and after working for an Ace Handyman Services local office, even for a short time, they have no desire to be out on their own or operating their small businesses any longer.
