As we continue to grow, we are looking for a highly organized and motivated student to intern at our Minnetonka, MN location. This role is a great opportunity for the right individual to gain valuable skills in customer service, inside sales, and field experience doing handyman tasks.
The internship will run from June through August and provide ample opportunities for the right student to apply learnings, gain experience and leverage their talent in a meaningful way to drive business results. Some prior construction experience is preferrable, and we’ll teach you valuable skills using our proven system, provide opportunities for you to exercise your skills in a wide variety of field and technical areas, and demonstrate up close what it means to work in the Professional Handyman industry.
As an Intern at our Ace Handyman Services (AHS) Minnetonka location, you will be responsible for the following activities:
• Answer phones on assigned days, review inbound emails, respond to customer calls and online leads in timely manner
• Educate customers on our services, capabilities, rates and availability and quote projects via phone
• Utilize Ace dispatching & schedule management software to ensure timely and accurate scheduling of customer needs, keeping in mind logistics of projects and travel time
• Support the crew in the field on assigned days and work part time on carpentry, drywall, painting projects and light electrical and plumbing projects as skills allow
• Be available to work in assigned part time or full time shifts as agreed between the hours of 8am – 5:00pm CST Monday- Friday at our Minnetonka location, (northwest intersection of Interstates 394 and 494 in Wayzata)
Specific qualifications for the role include:
• High school diploma or GED
• Working towards 2 year or 4 year college degree
• Organized, detail oriented, self-starter
• Interested in helping customers
• Comfortable with following a documented call process to book clients and meet customer needs
• Adept at using multiple software applications; Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Interest in home improvement/contracting/construction/decorating or real estate
• Brings a spirit of teamwork and camaraderie to the workplace
